Absolutely! This is one of the many ways Driftwood Printing is different than other printers. We take the time to ensure we understand the goal of your project and work with you to exceed your expectations.
We understand the importance of security. All digital correspondence and files are handled with the client’s privacy and security foremost in our mind. We do not provide public access to production areas. We often take photos of our products for purposes of social media, advertising and website development. If any client wishes we not use their materials as samples of our work we would be happy to omit those.
Selecting the right print surface (substrate) can be a difficult process if you aren’t familiar with print. We are here to help you find the right choice for you. First ask yourself a few questions:
- Where is the product going? Outside or Inside? Will you need grommets?
- What is your budget?
- How long will the item be in use? Days, weeks, months, years?
- What type of graphics will you be printing?
Answering those questions will help you make the right choice. If you are still unsure, just ask us! We’ll be glad to help determine what is best for your project.

Here is the million dollar question! It can be confusing when you hear all the technical verbiage… DPI, PPI and Pixels. Let’s start by explaining Pixels… Digital devices measure their resolution in pixels. Each of these pixels is a sample or a piece of the picture. When your photo is measured by pixels it is a total count of how many pixels were used to create the entire image. If you take a digital photo at 4368 x 2912 pixels, the total pixel count of the entire image will be 12,719,616 pixels. Now that you understand Pixels, let talk about how they are used… When viewing your pictures on your computer, its size is expressed by PPI or Pixels per Inch. When we enlarge your picture to print, its size is now expressed in DPI or Dots per Inch. When you want to increase a print size it decreases the PPI.
Understanding what makes a great quality picture and its intended use will help you decide how much you can enlarge your image. We always recommend that your images be taken hi-resolution. When your entire image (such as the example above) is enlarged it stretches the 12,719,616 pixels to whatever size you desire (decreasing the PPI). If the resolution is low then the appearance of the enlargement is not crisp and clear, instead it will appear grainy, blurry and /or showing jagged box-like lines. A great way to see if this will happen to your file is to open it in a photo editing software and view it at the exact size you are looking to enlarge to.
We use great printers along with quality inks and substrates, however the rest is determined by your image and what size your want to have your image enlarged to. You can use this guide to be assured beforehand at what type of quality you can expect.
